I linked my excel file to my autocad drawing but when I try to print it only prints the data in the first row and the gridlines but none of the rest of the data.
It even shows up this way in the preview. What setting do I have screwed up to cause this to happen? I'm using autocad btw. Better late than never - here's the answer to how to get rid of the border lines around linked Excel objects.
I worked out how to remove the lines from linked Excel fields in AutoCad. I'm a real novice using AutoCad so finding out I can link a drawing to Excel was great news.
I think we'll do all of our drawings this way from now on - it'll make them much easier to maintain and change our item tag numbers. It doesn't matter if the borders are displayed in Excel. The important thing is to use Arial Narrow 64pt as the font in Excel as this seemed to paste into AutoCad at the correct size.
The cell background in Excel is set to "No Color" and the font color to Red. Here's how I did it, and then removed the borders: 1.
Copy a cell from Excel. Paste Special "As link" in the drawing the new field will then display but with a border 3. Select the new field then right click In the "Color" field choose "Select color Click on the "True color" tab - you will note that the "Color:" box at the bottom is currently disabled 6.
Click anywhere on the grayscale slider - this will activate the field at the bottom. Move the slider back up to the top - the box at the bottom should then display " Click ok - the border should now be invisible in the page layout view 9.
To remove the borders on any additional items select a bunch of them all at once then simply choose the new stored color setting of ",," from the drop down list. I am having the same trouble as above. My excel spreadsheet just dissapears when I try to pdf it. The spreadsheet contains photograps as well as data, so I am trying to import it as a OLE.
